RIL leads 248-point
Sensex fall. Akruti City leads gainers in group "A". Volatility
was high in second half of the trading session ahead of the expiry
of Aug 2008 derivatives contracts. Steady rise in crude oil prices
weighed on the sentiment. Bharat heavy Electricals, DLF and TCS
shed over 3%. Reliance Industries (RIL) lost nearly 3%. Tata Power
rose close to 1.5%.
BSE Sensex ended down
248.45 points or 1.74 % at 14,048.34. BSE Midcap ended down 77.58
points or 1.36 % at 5,608.85. BSE Smallcap ended down 77.61 points
or 1.13 % at 6,782.30.
Nifty ended down 78.10
points or 1.82 % at 4,214.00
Non of the BSE sectoral index gained today.

Aban offshore Essar Oil, BPCL were the losers, and Cairn advanced
Rs. 6.70 to 250.95.

CG ended down 262.37 points or 2.23 % at 11,492.50. LMW, Alstom
Project, Praj Ind. declined and SKF India and Suzlon energy
advanced.

PSU ended down 125.11 points or 1.89 % at 6,508.16. Mangalore
refinery and NALCO ended down almost 6 % and Power Finance and BOB
advanced.
