Yesterday's gain proved to be short-lived and Sensex with all the sectoral indices dived again and dropped 570 points. Once the Sensex was down 700 points. Yet tomorrow on Friday inflation will be declared and may pull market down. Realty, Metal, Power and Bankex indices slumped. The market breadth was negative and almost 70 % shares declined on BSE.

BSE Sensex ended down 570.51 points or 4.18 % at 13094.11. At day's low, it was down 729 points from previous close. BSE Midcap ended down 149.54 points or 2.82 % at 5161.76 and BSE Smallcap ended down 157.63 points or 2.42 % at 6349.17.

Nifty ended down 167.60 or 4.09 % at 3925.75.

No sectoral index gained today.

Top loser BSE sectoral indices were :

Realty (ended down 435.97 points or 9.21 % at 4295.22)
Metal (ended down 1125.47 points or 8.50 % at 12113.55)
Power (ended down 106.58 points or 4.67 % at 2173.63)

Only gainer stocks from BSE Sensex were:

SBI (ended up Rs. 22.30 or 2.07 % at Rs. 1101.55)
ONGC (ended up Rs. 4.75 or 0.56 % at Rs. 859.20)

Tata Steel (ended down Rs.83.75 or 11.30 % at Rs. 657.45)
DLF (ended down Rs. 42.10 or 9.93 % at Rs. 381.85)
