HDIL leads gainers in group "A". A strong correction in crude price lifted not only the BSE Sensex but all the frontline & sertoral indices. After 12 trading sessions BSE Sensex crossed psychological 15,000 mark and Nifty crosses psychological 4,500 mark. Realty and Banking shares were star performers but HC products lagged behind today's rally.

Oil prices tumbled extending the previous day's fall on initial signs that a weakened Hurricane Gustav spared major Gulf oil facilities. At 16:32 IST, crude oil was trading at $108.12 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).

European markets turned positive after a negative start. US markets were closed on Monday, 1 September 2008, for Labour Day holiday.

BSE Sensex ended up 551.35 points or 3.80 % at 15,049.86. BSE Midcap ended up 95.03 points or 1.66 % at 5,837.01. BSE Smallcap ended up 91.00 points or 1.32 % at 6,982.39.

Nifty ended up 155.35 points or 3.57 % at 4,504.00.

Realty ended up 367.29 points or 7.35 % at 5,367.27. Orbitco ended up Rs. 43.80 at 304.55, HDFC ended up Rs. 45.60 at Rs. 325.85.IndBul Real ended up Rs. 28.35 at Rs. 322.35.
Bankex ended up 425.17 points or 6.06 % at 7,446.52. Kotak Bank ended up Rs. 56.75 at Rs. 649.95, Indian Overseas ended up Rs. 7.30 at Rs. 97.85, SBI ended up Rs. 105.35 at 1,521.35.
PSU ended up 254.57 points or 3.76 % at 7,022.75. HPCL ended up Rs. 24.35 at Rs. 225.80, IOC ended up Rs. 32.65 at Rs. 429.40.
